About Betty
Hello.
Practical guides for humans figuring shit out themselves.
That's it. That's the whole pitch.
The story
Betty Better Co started because someone got tired of buying 300-page books that took six weeks to read and could've been a pamphlet. Tired of self-help that made you feel worse. Tired of advice that needed three masterclasses to understand. Tired of wellness brands trying to sell a $200 magnesium spray for what is essentially "your hormones are doing weird shit."
So Betty wrote the books she wished she'd had. Then she wrote some more. Then she wrote puzzle books. Then someone said "you should also do posters" and now there are those too.
The Betty Better Co is a growing library of:
- Short practical books — 20-minute reads on the things nobody taught you
- Puzzle and activity books — word searches, sudoku, trivia, with real swearing and real symptoms
- Printable templates, posters, and tools for actual real-life problems
- A weekly newsletter called The Betty Letter — one useful thing in your inbox, no spam
- One free thing for every new subscriber
All written for anyone trying to figure something out. With humour. Without judgement. And in language that doesn't make you feel stupid.
Who Betty is
A 52-year-old woman with ADHD, a full life behind her, and zero patience for fluff. She's the older sister you wish you had on speed dial. The one who says the thing nobody else will say. She doesn't lecture, she just hands over the notes.
She's not a guru. She's not a life coach. She's the version of you that's already figured out the thing.
Who Betty is for
Anyone.
Every gender. Every sexuality. Every background. Every age. Every level of "I have no idea what I'm doing."
Betty was originally written for women — and a lot of her work still is — but the audience broadened because the truth is: nobody handed any of us the notes for half this stuff. Whether you're navigating perimenopause, learning to hang a shelf, deciding whether to take HRT, writing a will without crying, or just trying to find a quieter way to spend an evening — Betty's got a book for it.
What Betty stands for
- Plain English over jargon — always
- Action over theory — always
- Warmth without being soft — always
- Real talk over wellness industry nonsense — always
- Inclusivity by default — every gender, every sexuality, every background, every life stage
- Zero tolerance for racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any kind of othering — non-negotiable
- Quiet generosity — a portion of every sale supports people leaving unsafe situations. We don't make a campaign of it. We just do it.
