20 Signs You're Wonderfully Imperfect

This isn't a quiz with a score at the end. It's a recognition list.

The wonderfully imperfect aren't failing at life. They're just humans who stopped pretending they have it all together — which, plot twist, is the most together thing a person can be.

Perfectionism is exhausting. Pretending is louder than living. And the pressure to look like you've got every part of your life colour-coded and labelled? That's a full-time unpaid job most of us are quietly ready to quit.

So here are 20 signs you might be one of us. Tick more than five and welcome — this is the place.

  1. You have a drawer full of pens that don't work and you can't bring yourself to throw them out.
  2. You've started organising the cupboard, got distracted by something in the cupboard, and forgotten what you were doing for the rest of the day.
  3. You've ordered the salad knowing full well you're eating chips when you get home.
  4. You've cried in the car park of a Coles. (Bonus points if it was over something small.)
  5. You have an unfinished puzzle, an unfinished book and an unfinished email all waiting for you. Right now. As you read this.
  6. You've told someone you're "fine" while internally compiling a list of grievances longer than the Magna Carta.
  7. You've reset your password three times this week and you still don't remember it.
  8. You've laughed at something completely inappropriate in a serious meeting and tried to pass it off as a cough.
  9. You have a "going somewhere nice" outfit you've owned for six years and never worn.
  10. You absolutely have a favourite mug and you're slightly weird about it.
  11. You have at least one chair in your house that exists purely to hold clothes.
  12. You've said yes to something you absolutely did not want to do because saying no felt harder than just turning up.
  13. You've Googled the same thing four times in three weeks because the answer didn't stick.
  14. You have a tab open from eleven days ago that you swear you're going to read.
  15. You've practised what you were going to say in a difficult conversation, then said something completely different and slightly worse.
  16. You have a skincare routine for the days you have the energy and one for the days you don't. Which is most days.
  17. You've eaten a meal standing up over the sink and told yourself it counts as self-care.
  18. You have a group chat that hasn't been read in 47 days and you're going to leave it eventually. Probably.
  19. You bought a notebook to "get organised" and have written three lines in it. They are: "Today" — and then nothing.
  20. You're reading this right now instead of doing the three things on your list. And honestly? That's allowed.

If you ticked more than five — welcome. This is the place.

We make books for the wonderfully imperfect. Word search puzzles for hot flushes, midlife and the decades we still secretly miss. Posters for the wall. Pep talks for the inbox. None of it is about being more — it's about being seen exactly where you are.
